Nederlandse en Vlaamse kinderen en jongeren als gebruikers van interactieve media
Abstract
A survey among 1355 Dutch and 1000 Flemish children and adolescents aged 6-17 years assessed their ownership of, access to, use of, and views held about interactive media. Special attention was given to sex and s E s differences between children in various age groups. It was concluded that although the pc and computer games have achieved an important place in children’s and adolescents’ lives, they still prefer other media when it comes to acquiring knowledge and regulating their mood. Girls are less involved with interactive media than are boys, and lowers e s groups have less access to pc’s and some computer games. The differences in involvement with interactive media between boys and girls are more substantial then those between SES groups.
