About Tetradio
Tetradio is the magazine of the Griekenlandcentrum of Ghent University.
The Griekenlandcentrum aims to promote interest in Greek culture in all its facets, from antiquity to the present. Since 1991, it has organised annual lecture series for a wide audience, usually around a central theme.
The magazine has three sections. In the first and longest section, the speakers of the past year of operation process their lectures into articles: this section contains a thematic coherence. In addition, there are individual essays, in which (recently graduated) students in particular are given the opportunity to summarise their research (usually master's theses or doctorates). Articles can also be submitted spontaneously to the editors for this section. Finally, there are also book reviews, in which recent publications are presented. Publishers can send new books on Greek culture and history or new translations of Greek literature to the editors.
Tetradio aims to make new research and current themes widely accessible. The target audience consists of teachers or students of classical languages as well as other interested parties. That is why most of the contributions are in Dutch.
