Een hedendaagse Griekse tragedie: Politieke, sociale en economische achtergrond van de Griekse crisis
- Ioannis Georgakopoulos
Abstract
This article tries to answer the question why Greece is the weakest link of the Euro-family. The first part of the article gives an concise historical overview of political life in Greece since the restoration of democracy in 1974. In the second part the author analyzes the deeper implications of this contemporary political life, which is mainly based on nepotism and clientelism. Which are the effects on Greek social and economic reality? Finally, the article gives a more detail account of the period 2009-2010, during which the Greek economic tragedy turned into a European problem.
