De plaats van de theorie in het empirisch sociaal onderzoek
Abstract
The place of theory in empirical social research - This article deals with how the philosophy of science solves the problem of the relationship between theory and facts of investigation in empirical research. Above all the necessity of the distinction between the context of discovery and the context of justification is emphasized. The theory-impregnated nature of knowledge makes this distinction necessary. Finally the resulting problem of choice between competing theories is looked at.
