Abstract
Are social security contributions shifted in Belgium? - It is a widely known fact that, in Belgium, social security contributions paid by workers are not shifted. Workers’ share in national income has remained constant since the introduction of the social security system. It can be shown, however, and this is done in this note, that shifting can take place if the income elasticity of labour supply is positive.
