Het leiderschaps- en managementonderzoek aan de Ohio State University en aan het Management Research Center te Rochester

Abstract

Leadership and management research at the Ohio State University and at the Management Research Center, Rochester - In a previous article the leadership research of the “Institute of Social Research” (I.S.R.) at the University of Michigan has been discussed. A tentative answer has been given to the following questions: - is there at this moment any research on leadership and management running in the I.S.R.? - what are the new methods of approach? - have the research areas shifted or enlarged? This article concerns a summary of the situation at another pioneer center of leadership studies, namely: “The Ohio State University”, Columbus, Ohio, and at the more recently developed center: “The Management Research Center (M.R.C.), Rochester, New-York”. After the discussion of the former and current Ohio State Leadershipstudies, it will be possible to give an answer to the same questions which were posed for the I.S.R. After the discussion of the M.R.C. activities and publications, it will be possible to give an answer to the questions about the influence of the Michigan- and Ohio Studies on the acivities of the M.R.C., as well as to the question about new methods of approach and research areas at the M.R.C.
