Abstract
A social-cultural problem. Some remarks in connection with Elly Dorrepaal’s „Toward a structural analysis of the novels of Hugo Claus” (Tijdschrift voor Sociale Wetenschappen, 1972, nr 1, pp. 3-31) - For the author sociological interpretation of literary works is dependent on a preceding knowledge of collective subjectivity which is inseparable from a social-cultural system. An open-minded construction of an existential-analysis of a collective situation could reach this purpose. Moreover, literary study can contribute to this subject, as shows e.g. the essay of Elly Dorrepaal.
