Taaleigen en sociale lagen
Abstract
Relations between social and linguistic strata. - The author does not try to delimit those strata exactly. He admits, for his purpose, the broad categories of upper, middle and lower classes. He stresses the importance of vertical movements from lower linguistic strata to upper strata. This movement seems to be characteristic for our modern times and to be connected with the growth of democracy in general.
