De ouder wordende werknemer in perspectief: uitdagingen voor het personeelsbeleid
Abstract
The elderly employee in perspective : challenge for personnel management - The demographical evolution and its ethical, social and economic consequences make employment up to an older age inevitable. Organizations however lack the experience of employing elderly workers, who are currently prematurely disbarred from employment on the basis of a stereotypical image. This article gives a summary of stereotypical arguments and compares them to research results. It also states that personnel management has an important role in changing the attitude towards the older worker and in ensuring longer employment. Some possible personnel practices are also given.
