Het nationaliteitenprobleem in Joegoslavië
Abstract
The nationality problem in Yugoslavia - The author argues that the fundamental problem in the Yugoslav conflict is the relation between Serbs and Croats. Even if the international community should impose a solution on the Bosnian parties at war, the deeper rift in the Yugoslav community would not be healed. In order to explain the opposition between Serbs and Croats, the history of their relations under the Habsburg reign is recalled. In the second part, the author describes the genesis and formulation of the Great-Creation, Great-Serbian and Yugoslav ideologies. The article concludes with a short evaluation of these ideologies, alternatively using the criteria of scientific veracity and societal operationality.
