"New journalism": een studie over de grenzen van de journalistiek
Abstract
New Journalism : a study on the borders of journalism - New Journalism is a journalistic approach, which is characterized by a literary and personal style. It arose in the United States in the mid-sixties at a moment when American journalism was in an ideological and economic crisis. By portraying the different definitions, the origins and the various techniques of the New Journalism, this article tries to offer a general description of the phenomenon. Because this new journalistic strategy made short work of ’unquestionable’ journalistic dogmas such as traditional objectivity, it brought about a storm of criticism. Therefore, attention is also paid to the often intense critiques which accompanied the rise of the New Journalism.
