Curriculum-allocatie in een comprehensieve schoolstructuur
Abstract
Curriculum placement in a comprehensive school - Recent evidence concerning the contribution of several variables in explaining curriculum placement among secondary school pupils suggests that socio-economic background has relatively little effect on curriculum assignment, which is in large part a function of ‘achieved status’-characteristics (e.g. Alexander et al., 1978; Davis & Haller, 1981). Using data of pupils enrolled in a comprehensive school, this study confirms the findings of contemporary research (conducted in the context of structural innovations in the Belgian secondary school system) that educational achievements are prime determinants of pupils’ subjects choice (e.g. Osaer, 1983; Brutsaert, 1984).
