Kohlberg's cognitieve morele ontwikkelingstheorie: een toepassing op jeugddelinquentie
Abstract
Kohlberg’s cognitive moral-development theory. Application to juvenile delinquency - Kohlberg, based on Piaget’s pioneering insights, developed a cognitive-developmental theory on moral reasoning. His structural-developmental approach to delinquency causation forms the central theme of this article. Before one can accept that the stage of moral development affects deviant behavior, one must provide arguments to prove the link moral judgment-moral behavior. Without questioning the theory of Kohlberg, both Gilligan and Haan add a new dimension to the abstract moral reasoning as an important factor in the search for the causes of delinquency. Kohlberg himself, however, stresses that additional sociological research results are essential tot the understanding of deviation. The cognitive moral development-theory provides us with a number of interesting ideas for the treatment of juvenile delinquency.
