Recent tendencies in polemology: new paradigm or step back? — This paper examines some recent trends in polemology, more precisely the ideas of A. Rapoport, J. Galtung and H. Tromp, who are presented by the latter on a new paradigm or a paradigmatical change in the field of „Peace Research”. The author critizes the terminology, some aspects of methodology and most of all the strong ideological and utopian orientation of this writers. He thinks that, at the same moment when polemology has reached the status of a scientific discipline, this new direction fails to return to the level and status of pre-science. This happens, as Alain Touraine pointed out, when social life is no longer explained by social relations, but by ideas.
