Methoden om organisatie-identiteit te meten: een overzicht
- Johan Van Rekom
Abstract
This article provides an overview of methods for measuring organisational identity. These are classified into five groups: (1) methods for strategy formulation, (2) methods for assessing how organisation members perceive organisational identity, (3) methods for measuring identity when it is subject to instability, (4) methods striving to understand identity and (5) methods looking for those features that underlie the way an organisation acts and thinks. The methods are evaluated from the point of view of the management issue they address and illustrated with empirical examples. The nature of the differences between the measurement approaches is of such a nature, that they are complementary rather than comparable to each other. The article ends up proposing steps to integrate the conceptualisations underlying the different approaches, in order to deepen our understanding of organisational identity.
