Abstract

In this study the content of a participatory Intranet in a large hospital was examined. The objective was to determine whether the information made available on the Intranet is supportive of employees’ information participation. The study showed that various types of information were made available. Furthermore, both horizontal and vertical flow of information were facilitated. The authors conclude that the Intranet contributed to the process of information participation. Recommendations for further study emphasize the importance of research on Intranet use in an organizational setting.
