De doorgifte van gezondheidsvoorlichtingsprogramma's door lokale televisiestations: een onderzoek naar determinanten

Abstract

In the Netherlands during the 1980’s and 1990’s, electronic local media like cable text, television and radio have shown a rapid growth. Recently, they are discovered by people working in the field of public health, who view them as a channel for their educational programs. This study investigates the readiness of 32 Dutch television stations to broadcast externally produced programs on health issues, and the antecedent conditions of this readiness. The study shows that professional, audience oriented television stations are reluctant to broadcast externally produced programmes. Finally, suggestions are made to counter this reluctance by paying attention to the specific needs of individual television stations.
