Abstract

In the Netherlands much has been written about internal communication and specially about the systematic gathering, elaboration and mediated distribution of the news within an organization - in Holland always called journalism in residence - but little is known about the professionals that work in this area. The research project that is presented here, tries to sketch a profile of the workers in the field of the editorial services, of the work they usually do and what they find important. Although 98% of all Dutch organizations with more than 200 employees have an employee magazine in one way or another, hardly half of them have assigned somebody specifically for this task for one or more days a week, and only a few editors have and wish to have editorial freedom.
