Abstract

An infrequently concept used in mass communication research is interest in things that take place in certain geographical areas. In this study this concept geographical range of information interest is explored theoretically and empirically in terms of place of residence, geographical mobility and in terms of local media exposure. The results indicate that the concept as such is useful, despite some inconsistencies when related to local media exposure.
