Wetenschap in het Nederlandse dagblad: een vergelijking tussen de wetenschapspagina en de rest van de krant
Abstract
Most studies dealing with science in newspapers do not distinguish between those articles that appear in science sections and those appearing elsewhere in the newspapers. The present study, analysing three national and three regional dailies does focus on this distinction. It turns out that two thirds of all articles on science appear in the general part. The science sections mainly appear to contain articles on the natural sciences, whereas humanities and social sciences are mainly confined to the general part of newspapers. Most science reporting does not relate to topical issues of a social or political nature.
