Het journaal in beweging
Abstract
Wiet van Hoorn gives an account of her thorough analytic research on the changes in both presentation and composition of Dutch Television-News. In spite of the changing conventions from sober and factual to more entertaining ones, the audience’s acceptance of the News as a ’trying to be objective’-medium hasn’t changed much through the years. Van Hoorn draws the conclusion that the Anglo-Saxon studies, where her research is based on. arc to limited to justify statements about the significance of the change of the Television-News, because no account is taken of the dynamic character of the conventions.
