Abstract
The article deals with two important issues. The first is concerned with the fact that in policy oriented research and analysis of complex (or ill-structured) policy problems a combination of different research methods and techniques (hybrid techniques) ought to be used. Using one single technique is not an appropriate way to analyse this type of problems. The second issue has to do with the question how one can accomplish such a hybrid research approach in the practice of research. An example of this is presented.
