Akzeptanz- und Begleitforschung: methodische Ansätze, Möglichkeiten und Grenzen

Abstract

Evaluation research aimes at achieving results, useful in politics and administration. Nevertheless even this kind of research is said to be of little practical effect. This is not only due to restricted scope for political action, but has as well its reason in the methodological strategies of conventional social research with its preference in standardizing its instruments and quantifying its results. These strategies however need -for developing a useful design - a lot of foregoing knowledge about the subject of research, knowledge that isn’t at hand in the typical subjects evaluation researchers are engaged in. The article deals with some central methodological problems of conventional evaluation and shows possibilities to handle them by a variable combination of different - qualitative and quantitative – concepts.
