Marktmechanisme en rol van openbare bibliotheken in de informatieverzorging
Abstract
The developments in information supply and demand during the last ten years show a demand strongly outdistanced by the supply, the gulf is still widening. The question is if and how the market mechanism can help bridging the gulf. And if government stimulates information market, what are the consequences for public information services? Can public libraries be helpfull in bridging the gulf between supply and demand of information? How must they react if government stimulates the information market? How can they redefine their role in the field of public information services?
