Dalí, de oedipale Narcissus

Author
  • Kevin Van Colen

Abstract

In this article the author argues that Salvador Dali can be seen as an Oedipus and a Narcissus, both in his works and in his life. The title ‘the Oedipal Narcissus’, moreover, refers to the main thesis of this study: Dali appealed to images and symbols of classical mythology to express these particular facets of his life.
