Abstract
Analysing the characteristics of the political channel of the Catholic world after 1945, the author emphasizes the Progressive disintegration of this channel. Although at the beginning, this particular world only had one single political expression, tendencies towards plurality seem to be getting stronger all the time. This central position of the christian democrats in the political spectrum seems increasingly uncomfortable as the Christian electorate is currently being courted by all the other political parties.
