Abstract

Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru or The National Library of Wales (NLW) in Aberystwyth was established in 1909, to collect and provide access to the documentary history of the nation. It is a legal deposit library and is therefore entitled to receive a copy of all books, magazines, newspapers etc. published in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Welsh Political Archive (WPA) is a dedicated programme within the Library, established in 1983, to collect, catalogue and promote archival material which reflects the political life of Wales.
