Duits als autochtone taal in België: een schets met aandacht voor onderzoeksdesiderata

Abstract

Preceded by a general outline of relevant geographical, historical, language
political and linguistic issues this article addresses the way in which the
German-speaking minorities of Belgium have been treated in scientific linguistic
literature over the last 50 years. It lists a number of contact linguistic research
desiderata and pleads for a collaborative multidisciplinary and multidimensional
approach towards the scientific study of German-speaking Belgium.
