The
Matrix-trilogy is perhaps the most interesting in that respect, as it actively deals with
issues of human energy, both literal and metaphorical. However, this problematic dialectic
of human energy is not easily understood. Moreover, it requires a completely new and
radical interpretation of the films altogether. This article will utilise a machinic-oriented
ontology to explore the energy issues at stake in The Matrix and what these issues may
teach us about our own understanding of the energy problems that we have encountered
at the dawn of the Anthropocene.
}, month = {3}, pages = {45-59}, issn = {2736-2175}, publisher={Koninklijke Zuid-Nederlandse Maatschappij voor Taal- en Letterkunde en Geschiedenis}, journal = {Handelingen - Koninklijke Zuid-Nederlandse maatschappij voor taal- en letterkunde en geschiedenis} }
