About this journal

Handelingen van de Koninklijke Commissie voor Toponymie en Dialectologie – Bulletin de la Commission Royale de Toponymie et Dialectologie is published by the Royal Commission for Toponymy and Dialectology, which carries out its academic work under the high patronage of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Sciences and Arts and the Académie royale des Sciences, des Lettres et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique. The journal was founded in 1927 and publishes scholarly studies on toponymy (covering both place names and personal names) and dialectology in both Germanic and Romance-speaking regions.

Proceedings of the Royal Commission for Toponymy and Dialectology – Bulletin de la Commission Royale de Toponymie et Dialectologie is abstracted and indexed in Bibliographie linguistique / Linguistic Bibliography; ERIH PLUS (European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences); Scopus.

It is an Open Access, peer-reviewed academic journal. Contributions are published under a CC-BY 4.0 licence, which permits unrestricted use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author and source are credited.
