Communicatie:tijdschrift voor communicatiewetenschap en mediacultuur is een wetenschappelijk tijdschrift dat ophield te bestaan in 2000. Het publiceerde bijdragen over alle vormen, niveaus en aspecten van de menselijke communicatie, benaderd vanuit een diversiteit aan theoretische en methodologische invalshoeken. Bijdragen hadden de vorm van een artikel,een kort onderzoeksverslag, een theoretische bijdrage, een verslag van empirisch onderzoek of een literatuurreview. Daarnaast werden in elk nummer boekbesprekingen van nieuwe vakliteratuur opgenomen en konden onderzoekers in een rubriek "standpunten" reflecteren of polemiseren over actuele feiten en problemen uit de wereld van de communicatie. Manuscripten werden volgens de dubbel-blinde beoordelingsprocedure geëvalueerd.
Historiek:
In 1969 verscheen het eerste nummer van Informatiebulletijn Ce.Co.We, uitgegeven door het Centrum voor communicatiewetenschappen van de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KULeuven). De uitgave verscheen driemaandelijks. Vanaf 1975 veranderde de naam in Communicatie: tijdschrift voor massamedia en cultuur om vanaf 1997 (jaargang 26) opnieuw te veranderen in Communicatie: tijdschrift voor communicatiewetenschap en mediacultuur. Jaargang 29 was in 2000 de laatste die verscheen.
