- Ulrike Maris
Abstract
In our present society - the information society - one can observe a gradual integration of various kinds of services in a network enabling all kinds of information traffic. This is called ‘convergence’, which will be further explained by its particular technological and regulatory characteristics. The aim of this article is to explore whether the government intervention is desirable within this framework of convergence. For this, a critical analysis of “the Green Paper on the Convergence of Telecommunications, Media and Information Technology Sectors, and the Implications for Regulation’ will be made.
